Hes A Hot Cat lived up to his name with a 219-point, $100,000 win under Wes Galyean, in Saturday’s NCHA Super Stakes Open finals in Fort Worth.

Smooth Mitch, with John Mitchell, and Playin Fancy Lights, ridden by Winston Hansma, marked back-to-back scores of 218 points to prevail as co-champions of Tuesday’s Open Gelding Finals.

High Brow Jackson and Monty Buntin locked down the John Deere Open division of the Super Stakes on Saturday, with a 222-point win. Wicked Wanda Rey and Nate Lansford were reserve with 219 points.

Sly Playgirl and Jaime Snider set the bar with 225 points midway through the first set, but Stylish Martini and Wagner trumped their mark with 225.5 points, showing next-to-last in the 25-horse field for owner Dottie St. Clair Hill.

Sally Cats Hot lived up to her name with a 224-point win for Walton’s Rocking W Ranch, under Jesse Lennox, in the John Deere Division of the Super Stakes Classic Thursday night at the NCHA Super Stakes, presented by XTO Energy.

We would like to take the time to remember 1989 Open Futurity champion and Non-Pro Hall of Famer Spencer Harden. Spencer had some great stories and you can find a couple in this episode.

After posting a 225 to lead the qualifiers to the Mercuria NCHA World Series of Cutting at the San Antonio Rodeo & Stock Show, Ken Mock rode Ralph Gray’s Just Playin Smart to a 229.5 win in the finals on Sunday.

Tarin’s score was never threatened until Ronnie went to the herd as the next-to-last rider in the last set and rode out with 222.5 points.

Tate Bennett marked 224 on Rios Jewel, by Bobs Hickory Rio, to win the John Deere Division of the Open Monday night at the NCHA Futurity.

A Little Bossy and RL Chartier mark a 231 in the second round of the 2012 Mercuria Energy Open World Finals on December 1st.
