The second leg of the NCHA Triple Crown, the NCHA Super Stakes and Super Stakes Classic, lived up to its star billing when nearly 2,000 of the world’s top equine athletes stirred up the dirt at the Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, March 28 through April 20. Hes A Hot Cat lived up to his name with a 219-point, $100,000 win under Wes Galyean, in Saturday’s NCHA Super Stakes Open finals in Fort Worth.

2013 Super Stakes – Non-Pro

Dean Holden and Playin With A Spoon, reserve champions of the Super Stakes Gelding Non-Pro division and first to cut in the Super Stakes Non-Pro Finals Saturday evening, set the pace and held the lead with 216 points, until Ray Baldwin and Shesa Hollywoodcat, the last to cut in the 20-horse finals, closed the gap with a 216.5-point win.

2013 Super Stakes – Limited Non-Pro

Havey Riddle and homegrown Mean Girl trumped competition in the NCHA Super Stakes Non-Pro Limited Finals on Friday, with a 220-point win.

2013 Non-Pro Gelding Stakes

Nelson Knight and Platinum Boon scored 220 points on Thursday for the NCHA Super Stakes Non-Pro Gelding championship.

2013 Open Gelding Stakes Co Champs

Smooth Mitch, with John Mitchell, and Playin Fancy Lights, ridden by Winston Hansma, marked back-to-back scores of 218 points to prevail as co-champions of Tuesday’s Open Gelding Finals.

2013 Super Stakes – John Deere Open

High Brow Jackson and Monty Buntin locked down the John Deere Open division of the Super Stakes on Saturday, with a 222-point win. Wicked Wanda Rey and Nate Lansford were reserve with 219 points.

2013 Super Stakes – Unlimited Amateur

Bill Helm dominated the Amateur Unlimited with a 217-point win plus the Senior title on Boons Playin who he also rode to win the Arbuckle Mountain Amateur championship.

2013 Super Stakes – Classic Unlimited Amateur

Jaylee Hall scored 219.5 points on Mae C Grey to win the Unlimited Amateur, while Jacob Taurel was reserve with 218.5 on Smartys Hot Date.
