Buzzted, winner of the Semi-Finals with 220 points, and an Open Gelding finalist, scored 225 points Saturday to claim the NCHA Open Derby championship.
The Light N Lena-sired gelding, who earned $45,500 for the win under Sean Flynn, is owned by Tim May, Saltillo, Miss. May had previously won nearly $30,000 showing Buzzted as a non-pro.

Flynn also placed tenth on Cha Ching And Change, sired by Im Countin Checks and owned by Circle Y Ranch, Millsap, Tex.
Flynn’s Open Derby mounts earned a total of $64,977.

Marking a score of 219, Carla Funk riding Suemma Cum Boon, took the championship in the Rios of Mercedes Classic Challenge Unlimited Amateur Finals.

Ashley Galyean and SVR Reyl Smart hold a tough cow in the 2013 Summer Cutting Spectacular Classic Limited Non-Pro finals. Though they only marked a 205, they displayed true perseverance holding that cow.

Tarin Rice marked 227 on Jim Crawford's homebred gelding I Bea Cat, by High Brow Cat, to win the John Deere Division of the NCHA Derby.
