2011 Derby Open Gelding

Tarin Rice, 22, won his first Open division title Wednesday in the Open Gelding finals of the NCHA Derby at the NCHA Summer Cutting Spectacular, presented by Great American Insurance. Rice marked a 223.5 on Lenas Star War, a Lenas Busy Bee gelding bred and owned by Brenda Michael of Amarillo, Texas.
